Electronic sales jobs boosted by Nokia laptop
Nokia's announcement that it is going to diversify into the netbook market could be good news for electronics sales jobs, as more workers could be needed to manufacture its new ground-breaking product.
The Booklet 3G is Nokia's first attempt to enter this emerging market and sales jobs could be bolstered as more people try to get their hands on the product, which merges mobile and laptop technology.
Paul Allen, editor of Computer Active magazine, said the Swedish company has made a logical move by developing the new product, which he thinks could seriously shake up the industry.
He said: "I believe that the two devices have features that overlap but they also have very specific features that are only useful in their own arena."
The mobile giant recently said that the Booklet 3G is a natural evolution as more people want an item that unites the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility.
